E-Gift Cards

These Terms and Conditions govern the use and operation of your HOYTS E-Gift Card.

HOYTS E-Gift Cards cannot be sold without the prior written consent of HOYTS Corporation Pty Ltd. HOYTS must approve in writing any material which includes reference to ‘HOYTS’ or ‘HOYTS E-Gift Cards’.

1. Agreeing to the Terms and Conditions

1.1 You agree to be bound by these Terms and Conditions by purchasing, activating, using or attempting to use your HOYTS E-Gift Card or making any transactional query.
1.2 By using a HOYTS E-Gift Card, you warrant to us that you will comply with these Terms and Conditions and all applicable laws and that your HOYTS E-Gift Card will not be used in any manner which is unlawful, misleading, deceptive or unfair.
1.3 If you are giving a HOYTS E-Gift Card to another person, you must ensure that the recipient of the HOYTS E-Gift Card is aware of the Terms and Conditions that apply to the HOYTS E-Gift Card and the relevant expiry date.
1.4 HOYTS Corporation Pty Ltd reserves the right to amend all or part of these Terms and Conditions at any time.

2. Purchasing a HOYTS E-Gift Card

2.1 HOYTS E-Gift Cards can only be purchased online at store.hoyts.com.au or through an authorised third-party distributor.
2.2 HOYTS E-Gift Cards purchased from any HOYTS cinema in Australia can be loaded with $30, $50, $100, $200 or $500 for Standard Gift Cards and $50, $100, $200, $500 for LUX E-Gift Cards.
2.4 Once a HOYTS E-Gift Card has been purchased, it cannot be refunded.
2.5 HOYTS is not liable for any HOYTS E-Gift Cards purchased through any online auction sites.

3. Redeeming a HOYTS E-Gift Card

3.1 HOYTS E-Gift Cards can be redeemed at any HOYTS cinema in Australia at the Box Office, Candy Bar or online at Hoyts.com.au for tickets to any available movie session at any time as well as for any items at the Candy Bar. Any value redeemed will be deducted from the available balance.
3.2 HOYTS cinema locations may change from time to time, please refer to Hoyts.com.au for a full list of HOYTS cinema locations.
3.3 If your purchase/s exceed the available balance on your HOYTS E-Gift Card, you must pay the excess using another method of payment.
3.4 HOYTS E-Gift Cards are valid for 36 months from the date of purchase. Our record of your expiry date is final. Once your HOYTS E-Gift Card has expired the HOYTS E-Gift Card cannot be re-activated and any unspent value cannot be used or redeemed by you.
3.4.1 All Gift Cards and e-Gift Cards purchased prior to March 22nd, 2018 will continue to expire on the initial 12 month validity date that was issued at the time of purchase. HOYTS will not accommodate requests to extend this date. Gift Cards and e-Gift Cards purchased after March 22nd, 2018 will be issued with a 3 year expiration date from the time of purchase.
3.5 Once a HOYTS E-Gift Card has been purchased and loaded with value or when the HOYTS E-Gift Card has reached a $0 balance, no further value can be added to it.
3.6 HOYTS E-Gift Cards cannot be redeemed for cash. No cash advances will be made at any time.
3.7 HOYTS E-Gift Cards cannot be redeemed for prepaid movie vouchers, HOYTS Gift Cards or HOYTS E-Gift Cards.
3.8 You do not need to use the entire available balance in one transaction. No change will be given, however, the remaining available balance may be applied to future purchases until the HOYTS E-Gift Card expires or the balance reaches $0.

4. Transaction Information

4.1 You can check the expiry date, available balance and transaction history of your HOYTS E-Gift Card by visiting hoyts.com.au/check
4.2 To find out information on your HOYTS E-Gift Card using the link above, you will be required to enter your HOYTS E-Gift Card number.
4.3 Your HOYTS E-Gift Card number is located on the PDF you received.

5. Lost or Stolen HOYTS Gift Cards

5.1 You should treat your HOYTS E-Gift Card like cash.
5.2 HOYTS E-Gift Cards cannot be replaced or refunded if lost, stolen or damaged.
5.3 We reserve the right to place a stop on your HOYTS E-Gift Card if:
(a) you report that your HOYTS E-Gift Card has been lost, stolen or damaged; or
(b) we believe (or reasonably suspect) that you have used (or will use) your HOYTS E-Gift Card contrary to these Terms and Conditions.
5.4 At our absolute discretion, we may change our policies and procedures on lost, stolen or damaged HOYTS E-Gift Cards. If we decide to do this, we will publish details on our website.

6. Errors and Complaints

6.1 If you wish to dispute an amount deducted from your HOYTS Gift Card, you must contact our Head Office or visit the Box Office at any HOYTS cinema in Australia. If an amount is not disputed within ninety (90) days after the transaction date, we may (at our sole discretion) refuse to provide you with a refund.
6.2 If you have a problem or complaint about your HOYTS Gift Card or these Terms and Conditions, please contact us here.

    Gift Cards

    2. Purchasing a HOYTS Gift Card

    2.1 HOYTS Gift Cards can be purchased from any HOYTS cinema in Australia.
    2.2 HOYTS Gift Cards can be purchased from store.hoyts.com.au. A delivery fee will be charged.
    2.2 HOYTS Gift Cards purchased from any HOYTS cinema in Australia can be loaded with $30, $50, $100, $200 or $500 for Standard gift cards and $50, $100, $200, $500 for LUX Gift Cards.
    2.3 HOYTS Gift Cards may also be purchased from any third party outlet approved by HOYTS, as amended from time to time.
    2.4 HOYTS Gift Cards purchased from any third party outlet approved by HOYTS, can be individually loaded with $30, $50 or $100.
    2.6 Once a HOYTS Gift Card has been purchased, it cannot be refunded.
    2.7 HOYTS is not liable for any Gift Cards purchased through any online auction sites.

    3. Redeeming a HOYTS Gift Card

    3.1 HOYTS Gift Cards can be redeemed at any HOYTS cinema or selected affiliate cinemas in Australia at the Box Office or Candy Bar for tickets to any available movie session at any time as well as for any items at the Candy Bar. Any value redeemed will be deducted from the available balance.
    3.2 HOYTS cinema locations may change from time to time, please refer to Hoyts.com.au for a full list of HOYTS cinema locations.
    3.3 If your purchase/s exceed the available balance on your HOYTS Gift Card, you must pay the excess using another method of payment.

      Vouchers

      These Terms and Conditions govern the use and operation of your HOYTS Voucher. 

      HOYTS Vouchers cannot be sold or distributed without the prior written consent of HOYTS Corporation Pty Ltd. HOYTS must approve in writing any material which includes reference to ‘HOYTS’ or ‘HOYTS Vouchers’.

      Specific terms and conditions may also apply to your voucher. Be sure to review the specific terms and conditions for your voucher product listed below these Standard Terms and Conditions.

      1.1 By purchasing, activating, using, or attempting to use your HOYTS Voucher, or making any transactional query, you agree to be bound by these Terms and Conditions.
      1.2 By using a HOYTS Voucher, you warrant that you will comply with these Terms and Conditions and all applicable laws, and that your HOYTS Voucher will not be used in any unlawful, misleading, deceptive, or unfair manner.
      1.3 If giving a HOYTS Voucher to another person, you must ensure the recipient is aware of these Terms and Conditions and the applicable expiry date.
      1.4 HOYTS Corporation Pty Ltd reserves the right to amend these Terms and Conditions at any time.

      2. Purchasing a HOYTS Voucher

      2.1 HOYTS Vouchers can be purchased online only via HOYTS.COM.AU or the HOYTS app.
      2.2 HOYTS Vouchers are issued for a specific experience or product and cannot be modified, reloaded, or changed after purchase.
      2.3 Once a HOYTS Voucher has been purchased, it cannot be refunded.

      3. Redeeming a HOYTS Voucher

      3.1 HOYTS Vouchers can be redeemed for the product or experience the Voucher is labelled for. Some Vouchers, such as ticket vouchers, can be redeemed at any HOYTS cinema in Australia at the Box Office or Candy Bar, or online at HOYTS.COM.AU or via the HOYTS app. Other Vouchers, such as food and beverage vouchers, can only be redeemed in-cinema at the Candy Bar.
      3.2 HOYTS Vouchers are valid until the expiry date indicated and cannot be exchanged, extended, or replaced after this date. Our record of expiry dates is final.
      3.3 HOYTS Vouchers cannot be:

      (a) Redeemed for other products, experiences, or upgrades not specified on the voucher

      (b) Used in conjunction with any other offers

      (c) Refunded once purchased

      (d) Replaced or refunded if lost, stolen, or damaged

      (e) Exchanged for cash (change will not be given)

      (f) Used to purchase pre-paid movie vouchers, gift cards, or HOYTS Rewards memberships

      g) Sold, used as an incentive, or incorporated into another offer without prior written consent from HOYTS

      3.4 Some HOYTS Vouchers redeemed online will require entry of both the voucher number and PIN. Booking fees may apply.

       

      4. Lost or Stolen Vouchers

      4.1 Treat your HOYTS Voucher like cash.
      4.2 HOYTS Vouchers cannot be replaced or refunded if lost, stolen, or damaged.
      4.3 HOYTS may place a stop on your voucher if:
      (a) you report it lost, stolen, or damaged, or
      (b) we reasonably suspect misuse or non-compliance with these Terms and Conditions.
      4.4 HOYTS may update its policies for lost, stolen, or damaged vouchers at its discretion; any changes will be published on hoyts.com.au.

      5. Errors and Complaints

      5.1 If you wish to dispute a transaction on your HOYTS Voucher, contact our Head Office or visit a HOYTS cinema Box Office within 90 days of the transaction date. HOYTS may refuse refunds after this period.
      5.2 For other issues or complaints regarding your HOYTS Voucher, contact us at www.hoyts.com.au/contactus.

      E-Vouchers

      HOYTS Adult E-Voucher

      Adult E-Voucher Terms and Conditions - these apply to all Adult Vouchers issued electronically.

      Specific terms and conditions may also apply to your voucher in addition to these Standard Terms and Conditions – be sure to check the Specific Terms and Conditions below these Standard Terms and Conditions.

      Each voucher must be exchanged at the Box Office or Candy Bar or redeemed at HOYTS.COM.AU or the HOYTS app for your ticket.

      Each voucher is redeemable for one (1) Standard ticket for one (1) Adult:
      • For any general admission session at HOYTS Cinemas in Australia
      • Upgrade fees may apply for select experiences and seating concepts, including (but not limited to) 3D, Xtremescreen, D-BOX, Samsung Onyx, Lounge, SCREENX, IMAX, APEX, and Recliners. Upgrade fees will be applied at the time of redemption and are subject to change at any time.
      • Valid until the expiry date indicated and cannot be exchanged, extended or replaced after this date. Our record of your expiry date is final. 
      If redeemed at HOYTS.COM.AU or the HOYTS app both the E-Voucher number and PIN are required to be entered. Booking fees will apply.

      Each voucher cannot be:
      • redeemed and/or upgraded for HOYTS LUX, HOYTS Daybed, special or group events sessions
      • used to purchase 3D glasses, 3D glasses must be purchased separately at an additional cost
      • used in conjunction with any other offers
      • refunded once purchased
      • replaced or refunded if lost, stolen or damaged
      • used to purchase any pre-paid movie vouchers, gift cards or HOYTS Rewards memberships
      • exchanged for cash and change will not be given irrespective of cinema pricing
      • used and/or sold by a person or company as an incentive for a third party to purchase other goods or services or be incorporated into an offer by that person or company for a third party to purchase other goods or services without the prior written consent of The HOYTS Corporation Pty Limited.

      HOYTS Child E-Voucher

      Child E-Voucher Terms and Conditions - these apply to all Child Vouchers issued electronically.

      Each voucher must be exchanged at the Box Office or Candy Bar or redeemed at HOYTS.COM.AU or the HOYTS app for your ticket.

      Each voucher is redeemable for one (1) Standard ticket for one (1) Child (15 years & under):
      • For any general admission session at HOYTS Cinemas in Australia
      • Upgrade fees may apply for select experiences and seating concepts, including (but not limited to) 3D, Xtremescreen, D-BOX, Samsung Onyx, Lounge, SCREENX, IMAX, APEX, and Recliners. Upgrade fees will be applied at the time of redemption and are subject to change at any time.
      • Valid until the expiry date indicated and cannot be exchanged, extended or replaced after this date. Our record of your expiry date is final. 
      If redeemed at HOYTS.COM.AU or the HOYTS app both the E-Voucher number and PIN are required to be entered. Booking fees will apply.

      Each voucher cannot be:
      • redeemed and/or upgraded for HOYTS LUX, HOYTS Daybed, special or group events sessions
      • used to purchase 3D glasses, 3D glasses must be purchased separately at an additional cost

      Senior E-Voucher Terms and Conditions - these apply to all Senior Vouchers issued electronically.

      Each E-Voucher must be exchanged at the Box Office or Candy Bar or redeemed at HOYTS.COM.AU or the HOYTS app for your ticket.

      Each E-Voucher is redeemable for one (1) Standard ticket for one (1) Adult (60 years & over with a valid Australian Seniors Card):
      • for any general admission session at HOYTS Cinemas in Australia
      • Upgrade fees may apply for select experiences and seating concepts, including (but not limited to) 3D, Xtremescreen, D-BOX, Samsung Onyx, Lounge, SCREENX, IMAX, APEX, and Recliners. Upgrade fees will be applied at the time of redemption and are subject to change at any time.
      • Valid until the expiry date indicated and cannot be exchanged, extended or replaced after this date. Our record of your expiry date is final.

      If redeemed at HOYTS.COM.AU or the HOYTS app both the E-Voucher number and PIN are required to be entered. Booking fees will apply.

      Each E-Voucher cannot be:

      Student E-Voucher Terms and Conditions - these apply to all Student Vouchers issued electronically.

      Each voucher must be exchanged at the Box Office or Candy Bar or redeemed at HOYTS.COM.AU or the HOYTS app for your ticket.

      Each voucher is redeemable for one (1) Standard ticket for one (1) Student (must present a valid Student ID in cinema):
      • for any general admission session at HOYTS Cinemas in Australia
      • Upgrade fees may apply for select experiences and seating concepts, including (but not limited to) 3D, Xtremescreen, D-BOX, Samsung Onyx, Lounge, SCREENX, IMAX, APEX, and Recliners. Upgrade fees will be applied at the time of redemption and are subject to change at any time.
      • Valid until the expiry date indicated and cannot be exchanged, extended or replaced after this date. Our record of your expiry date is final.
